I ran straight after work and picked up my copy of MOCKINGJAY. So now I'm going to go get cozy on my bed and start reading and HOPE that I can make myself put it down at a decent hour so I can get up early for work!
If you've got your copy - happy reading!

Maybe Next Time...
Well, I worked hard all day but didn't reach my 5,000 goal. Though I did pound out 3,048 words today, ten of those were from Friday night until fatigue suddenly overwhelmed me. I'm still proud of myself. 3,000 is nothing to balk at, even getting to 1,000 in a day is very satisfying. If I hadn't been so busy yesterday, I'm sure I could have pulled it off.
So this puts my total word count for this WIP at 15,454. So if I can make up the 2,000 words during the week, I'll be happy, since weekdays are a little tougher for me.
I hope you did well on your goal, Joan! Maybe we could do this again. Your competitiveness is what kept me going all day! Even when I wanted to stop at 6pm and watch my two favorite shows, I didn't. :)

Making a Goal and Going to Stick it! Er, I mean Stick to it!
I've just been inspired by Joan Stradling over at Vicissitudes (geez, I hope I spelled that right) and I'm going to make a goal of writing 5,000 words this weekend!
I've done 10,000 in a weekend before a few times so if by some miracle I can do that, I will celebrate. But I'll settle for 5,000, because after all, Saturday is already booked with other family obligations.
Thanks Joan for the inspiration!

What do YOU think People Will Wear in the Year 2070?
I'm writing a story set in the future and I'm having trouble figuring out what people will wear then. Currently I'm imagining body suits and that's how I'm writing it presently. Of course, that far into the future, clothing has to be auto-controlled as far as the temperature. So the suits will adjust to each person comfortably. That's so *cool* and *hot* at the same time if I don't say so myself. :) The clothing will also be green. (Not the color)
So I'm looking for other ideas. What do YOU think people will be wearing in 60, 70, or even 80 years from now?

The Mysterious Muse
I have realized that my mysterious muse only appears when my mind is clear. There are few times when that occurs. I'm always busy thinking about work, what I'm going to make for dinner. About the errands I have to run, appointments I need to make for the members of my family. The housework that needs done. Yuck!
But there are times when my mind is open and there is a vacancy. That's when the the muse is free to come in. Most often the vacancy is when I'm in the shower or right before I fall asleep. Occassionally she does check-in at other times. No matter when she visits, it always makes me happy. Really happy.
